Folks who know me, know that I'm fascinated with the relationship between
people and their government. Much of my time is taken up with reading
articles about what is happening in America and in the rest of the world or
listening to podcasts that cover the same subjects. So I knew about this
book as soon as it appeared because people like matt Taibbi, from Rolling
Stone, wrote about it. And there it was, on Bookshare. There has been a
great deal of discussion as to why Hillary Clinton lost the electoral votes
which made it possible for Donald Trump to inhabit the office of President
of the United States. This book provides a view, from inside the Clinton
campaign, that shows the shortcomings of the campaign, the missed
opportunities, and the tactical errors that campaign workers see as
contributing to its failure. There's also a very important bit of
information toward the end of the book, information that seems to have been
overlooked by many in the Democratic Party and in the mass media. John
Podesta made a decision that the campaign would publicly blame Russian
interference in the election for Hillary Clinton's loss. Aside from reading
this fact in the book, I've only seen public mention of it by two or three
people, even though many writers and commentators , as well as politicians
have read the book. Instead, we are reading one story after another about
whether or how, Russia colluded with the Trump campaign to defeat Hillary.
There are so many stories, pro and con, it makes my head spin. It's shameful
because there are really much more important issues on which to focus. So
for those of you who are still pondering over the 2016 Presidential
election, I recommend this book.
