Cutting Programs such as Planned Parenthood and blocking funding to
abortions and women's care clinics, assures the nation of greater
costs as the new crop of children grow into adulthood filled with
untreated health conditions.
But we Humans have been trained to compartmentalize our thinking. We
can be convinced that we must save all the little unborn fetuses, and
at the same time cut school funding, medical care, and job training
programs. Saving all of this money might justify our stinginess
except we wind up having to spend it all, and much more, on prisons
and increased police protection. And of course we have all of the
drug abuse that goes along with poverty. And if that weren't all, we
pat ourselves on the backs when we close the last abortion clinic in
our state, and then send the young people we've rescued, off to kill
or be killed in our American Empire's latest efforts to dominate the
world. If our psychiatrists and psychologists weren't also infected
with the Global Insanity that affects most all of us to one degree or
another, they would have us all committed, and throw the key away.
The other thing to remember, Bob, is that the political parties are
not government entities. They are Private Clubs. If my recollection
is correct, the drafters of our constitution did not envision
political parties. Naturally, when a young, small nation is formed,
ruled by an even smaller all White, Male, Landholders Oligarchy,
organized political parties would sound foolish.
Still, there was some value when Labor and the Working Class supported
the Democrats and the Wealthy business interests supported the
Republicans. But look at what happens when the big money and key
positions are controlled by one Party. Not only is our national
values slanted, but our laws and regulations are created to protect
those with the wealth. The Wealthy have the wherewithal to hire
people to tend to their business, freeing up their personal time to
promote legislation, back friendly candidates, and set conditions in
general that will favor the rich. Political Parties can be bought, as
proven by the loss of the Democratic Party to the Working Class and to
Labor Unions.
When Al Gore lost the presidential election due to the inability of
the Democratic Party to declare a miss election, and they allowed an
unfriendly Supreme Court to declare the winner, I stopped calling
myself a Democrat. After the shameful behavior during this past
presidential fiasco, I wrote the State Democratic Party Headquarters
and "officially" quit. Why would I continue to belong to an
organization that does not represent me? Why should I stand and
chant, "...with liberty and justice for all", when no such thing
exists?
I might go along with something that said, "I pledge allegiance to the
People of Earth, and to their Right to live full, productive lives. I
further promise to do all I can to protect All life on Earth, and to
always stand for Eternal Peace".
All life on Earth is interconnected. And outside this small speck of
rock, wrapped in it's thin protective atmosphere, there is only cold
emptiness. You would think that that alone would cause us all to pull
together to keep our world alive and thriving.

2. Here is my question for the pro-life movement. WE know that you are
pro-life before that life has passed through the vaginal canal. But are you
in favor of programs to increase the healthiness of children and reduce
child poverty such as good-quality prenatal care for the pregnant mother

and free school lunch and breakfast for kids in school? I have found that
many in the pro-life movement favor things like tax cuts and much smaller
government. Also, they really do have it in for Planned Parenthood which is
primarily an organization that offers health screenings and prenatal care
for poor women who often have very few other alternatives. Abortion
services
make up about seven percent of what Planned Parenthood does.
