[blind-democracy] Preaching to the choir, but I guess that's OK

Just before the original blind democracy list went down, Ted left because,
he said, we were "hard core Marxists". I think that translates to, he felt
that all of us had political views far to the left of his and he, therefore,
wasn't comfortable on the list. When he expressed his views, we argued with
him and it was an uncomfortable situation for him. Another person who was a
list member, but who never participated, is someone whom I know personally.
I have wondered for a long time why he remained on the list because I know
that he is right wing politically and rather socially conservative. He told
me today that he doesn't wish to subscribe to the new list because the
articles thtat I post, and I'm sure also Sylvie's, are, as he puts it, too
narrow. This is an illustration, I think, of how we are living in a bubble.
We, on the left, and also, those on the right. We say that if people were
only given the facts, they would understand what is happening in this
country and would be able to choose. But it does seem that people, all of
us, are open only to the facts that we choose to accept.
