Some of you on ACB Chat, and Blind Democracy knew Ken and Mary
Hopkins.  I know you will want to read the following:

Yesterday morning, Wednesday, February  19, Ken Hopkins called us with
the news of Mary's death.
While we've known for several years that Mary could not win her
struggle with cancer, nonetheless, it is so hard to lose a dear
friend.  I have to admit, Ken's words choked me up to the point that I
did not say all the encouraging things I might have tried to say.  I
just wept.  In part I wept for the loss of a friend of over 50 years,
and in part my tears were for Ken.  Ken and Mary have been such a
strong team, and they brought encouragement and leadership to a
struggling Organization of the Blind in Washington State, back in the late
60's.
While Ken told us that, according to Mary's wishes, there will be no
formal service, Cathy and I have pause to remember all the good times
we shared with such dear friends.

With heavy heart,
Carl Jarvis
