I got my file which whas highly redacted to the point of absurdity years
ago. about 1977 or so.
And I've lost it with many moves. But it did show that I was targetted by
the "Flint Red Squad" and other entities that were eliminated by the Church
Commission, both for my association with groups like the SWP, anti-war
groups, and "new left groups", my associations with the Black Panthers were
also brought up though it was noted I was white.
In 1976 the FBI did interview my employer at the time, The Genesee
Intermediate School District. It was actually the assistant principle at a
school for special needs still here in Flint where I worked as an aide.
Ironically, or perhaps not so much so they wanted to know of my efforts,
sucessful, by the way in organizing all the aids in to a union.
I did get targetted for assult by a biker and informant to the "Flint Red
Squad". He tried to literally kick my ass in a parking lot while organizing
and he was identified as a direct police informant.
In other words they were still using thugs and that was funded by the
notorious couintelpro shit too.
I and others of my ilk were under surveillance on and off for years. And,
mind you I was just a little guy; and sort of a free spirit; and a sort of
free agent most of the time.
I only, for example was a part of the SWP for a few brief months because,
frankly I thought they weren't all tht relevant.
And I really wasn't all that "old left/Marxist". In other words I just
wasn't a party liner personally.
(Not a knock on the SWP here, just the facts.)
I was kind of a hybrid sort of anarchical-syndicalist, union organizer, and
newlefty with identity politics in mind while at the same time being just a
kid and a newlefty type.
I also was noted for working on and for (even for free) some neauvo lefty
publications like the Flint Freedom Reader and the Ann Arbor Sun.
But, again from memory what really ticked them off and what really
triggerred anything wasn't my associations with tthese outfits, but my
anti-Vietnam and anti-Nuclear protesting and associations. And they were
quite tame too, though I engaged in protest from my Senior Year, including
May Day and Daily Death Tool (about a year later).
And again most of the groups I associated with in these regards included the
likes of "pPeace Wattch" and groups associated with Christian Pacisism even
though by then I was agnostic.
These were groups loosely aligned with Quakers, Unitarians, and anti-war
Catholic orgs. Sheesh. They thought my associations with these groups were
more suspect than any associations with the SWP or other so-called radical
or Marxist groups.
Man oh man, I wish I had tht file today!
But, big brother was surely watching then and surely is now.
Anymore I don't give a shit either.
Except, for the fact that all the resources spent upon this utter bullshit
and childish shit was most stupidly spent and could have been better spent
in actually clothing the naked, and feeding the hungry and stuff like that
which might well have been a bettergovernmental expenditure than fucking
around with a pip-squeak like me/us/ and those behind the tree.

Pompeo has supported nearly unfettered NSA surveillance, has blamed
Muslim leaders for condoning terror, and is one of the most hyperbolic
members of Congress when it comes to describing the Islamic State,
which he has called "an existential threat to America" and "the most
lethal and powerful terrorist group ever to have existed."
In an interview with Obama published on Friday, German newspaper Der
Spiegel
asked: "Are you going to pardon Edward Snowden?" Obama replied: "I
can't pardon somebody who hasn't gone before a court and presented
themselves, so that's not something that I would comment on at this

all metadata, and combining it with publicly available financial and
lifestyle information into a comprehensive, searchable database."
"What's needed is a fundamental upgrade to America's surveillance
capabilities," reads a Wall Street Journal piece Pompeo co-wrote in
January.
Pompeo is also a staunch defender of the prison at Guantanamo Bay,
calling it an "important national asset," and repeatedly arguing that
closing the facility would endanger Americans. He has also defended
CIA torturers, saying that "these men and women are not torturers,"
and that "the programs being used were within the law." He called the
exhaustive, 6,000-page Senate torture report "some liberal game being
played by the ACLU and Sen.
Feinstein."
Civil liberties groups immediately expressed concern about Pompeo as
CIA director. The position requires Senate confirmation.
"Congressman Pompeo's positions on bulk surveillance and Guantanamo
Bay also raise serious civil liberties concerns about privacy and due
process," the ACLU said in a statement. "These positions and others
merit serious public scrutiny through a confirmation process. His
positions on mass surveillance have been rejected by federal courts
and have been the subject of several lawsuits filed by the ACLU."
Pompeo has also accused Islamic faith leaders of being "potentially
complicit" in the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing. "When the most
devastating terrorist attacks on America in the last 20 years come
overwhelmingly from people of a single faith, and are performed in the
name of that faith, a special obligation falls on those that are the
