It's a branding thing don't you know?

He is all about branding and narcistic branding at that. In fact he builds very little and just sells his brand name.

It's selling the sizzle and not the steak. No wonder P.T. Barnum is one of Trump's heroes.

if Trump were elected he would probably want to change the name of this country from the United States of America to Trumpland.

Amusing...well, to those of us who dabble in Black Humor, yes.  To
relieve stress we find something funny in the worst of situations.
When Oliver Wendel Holmes presented his 8 to 1 paper supporting
Eugenics as a way of cleansing and improving our gene pool, a fellow
said, "Well, that'll get rid of all them Queers."  Standing alone it
is not funny.  But at the time the decision came down, it was a
decided poke at those fearless 8 judges.  Just as an aside, did you
know that the Nazis copied the United States Supreme Court decision,
when they decided that they needed to purge themselves of those lower
life forms, like Jews, in order to strengthen the Master Race.  During
the Nuremberg trials, defense of the practice was based on the fact
that the Nazis simply adopted the USA position, as upheld by our
Supreme Court.

So when roger says he found the silly inconsistencies of the Trumpites
attack on him, "amusing", I can agree.  But once said, as we see the
larger picture unfolding before us, it is not funny.  The anger and
hatred and intoleerence stirred up by Trump and his Trumpites,
hearkens back to those days of the Second World War, and the screaming
crowds gathered in front of Adolph Hitler.
As a ten year old boy, at the final peace settlement in 1945, I
remember believing that we had put an end to this violent human
nature.  Of course, even as I believed this, we, our very own nation,
were busy discriminating against Blacks, Indians, Women, Jews, Asians,
Mexicans
, Homosexuals, etc
We could well be staring down the barrel of another such period in our
tumultuous history.

Subject: [blind-democracy] Amusing Facebook comment

There is a local news outlet that I follow on Facebook. They posted the
question, do you think that Donald Trump is inciting violence at his
rallies? There was message after message denying that Trump could
possibly be inciting violence and claiming that it was Bernie Sanders
who was inciting the violence. I posted a comment myself saying that I
could not see how it was possible to say that Trump was not inciting
violence when he called, right in front of the cameras and the
microphone, for his supporters to beat up protestors and promised to pay
their legal bills. I got a reply that I found very amusing. It read as
follows: You're a fucktard liberal idiot. I hope somebody punches you
out too just to teach you a lesson.
Actually, the spelling was not that good, but by the time I thought
about posting it here I was no longer able to find it so that I could
copy and paste it.
