Subject: [blind-democracy] New Member, Sort Of
I was subscribed to this group many moons ago. I rejoined today because, to
be glunt, I've had it. I can't just play nice within the system and hope it
gets better anymore. I was hoping Obama would be the progressive I thought he
was, but he never really was. Sure, he was probably better than the
alternative, but at this point that isn't saying a whole lot. Now it's looking
more and more like we're going to be faced with a choice of really, really bad
and unthinkable come November. I've already made the decision that I am not
going to go with the lesser of two evils. Not this time. Not anymore. For the
past year I've seen the media, along with the DNC, try and run Bernie Sanders
out of the race. Despite this, he's still hanging on, and I'm with him to the
bitter end. In my humble opinion, he offers the best hope this country has had
for change in a very long time, and unlike with Obama he is the real deal. He
has spent nearly 40 years proving himself. Hillary, on the other hand, pretty
much blows with the political wind. She appears to be just another corporate
shill who will say and/or do anything to get elected. We've had more than
enough of that. I'm not delusional; I know the powers that be will continue to
do whatever they can to make sure Hillary gets nominated, and they will almost
certainly succeed. In that event, I will either vote for Jill Stein or write in
Bernie. I feel no allegiance to the Democratic Party. They have broken my
trust. Anyway, sorry for the rant. I just needed to be in a group of
individuals who just might understand where I'm coming from. Living in a red
state (Indiana) can be very disheartening sometimes.
