Good for you! Just a couple of days and you will have survived
another long trip around the Sun. Anyone who travels 365...or 366
days without even stopping for a potty break, deserves to include at
least one guilt trip every circumference.
After hearing of your troubles in unsubscribing to those annoying
emails, I will go forward doing what I now do. Each morning I go down
the list, marking all of those "begging"posts, and delete them en
mass. I think it was Frank who suggested that I could set up a new
email, and leave my old one as a garbage collector. But I am, by
Nature, a lazy fellow. I love writing off the top of my head because
I'm sitting here and it's easy to spout off. But looking at some of
those emails, and trying to figure out how to be rid of them, well
that is too much of a bother. I also go in once a day and mark all of
my spam, and then delete it, too.
But I digress. My original intent was to wish you a very special
birthday. Isn't it getting along toward your upper 70's?

birthday celebration dinner, guess what? There was a new fundraising email
from Elizabeth Warren, as if I'd never gone through the trouble of
unsubscribing. No, it's not my birthday today, but it will be on Wednesday.
My birthday dinner? There's one restaurant, The Jolly Fisherman, that has
managed not to change. Amazing! Same ambiance, same quality of food. You
can
tell because three quarters of the customers are older folks. And it was
quite full late this afternoon. My dinner? Chilled geschappo (donpt know
how
to spell it), green salad with bluecheese dressing, a lovely 2 lb. lobster
which they were kind enough to take out of the shell for me, french fries
on
the side, (my guilty pleasure for the year), and blueberry cobbler with
vanilla ice cream for dessert. The whole thing is actually a guilty
pleasure. Instead of eating it, I should have asked my family to donate the
money to a food pantry or homeless shelter.
I think I heard them mention that the lobster, itself, cost $24.
