Unfortunately, the majority of contemporary Israelis are not peace loving
and they are incredibly Chauvinistic and prejudiced. But there are still
some peace groups there and for years, I was a member of a wonderful
international email group dedicated to peace in Israel, run by an Israeli
woman in her eighties. There were some fantastic Israelis on that list.

Every group has its good and bad qualities. And given enough time, groups
can stray from their original values, and mimic those values around them.
In thinking about Middle East peace, my take is that Israelis and
Palestinianst are far more peace-seeking than their leaders. And how hard
it can be to be a peacemaker.
