The green party doesn't take corporate money? Now I really have heard
everything.

The Democratic Party has been targeting the Green Party with negative
propaganda for years in order to stave off any real competition. The tiny
socialist parties can't even get on the ballot. in most states. Instead of
flinging around allegations, you might try listening to these two black working
class candidates who want to nationalize banks, have a government run medical
system without private personnel, want a government run, not corporation run
Green New Deal, want to stop our endless wars and cut military funding to the
bone. In New York, the Democratic Party machine has tripled the number of votes
that a party needs in order to appear on the ballot in order to try to
eliminate the Green Party. No one has to do that to the SWP or any similar
party because they get so few votes that they don't matter to anyone. No one
calls their candidates spoilers because the Democrats do not feel their power
threatened by any of the traditional socialist parties nor the Social Democrats
of America and the Working Parties Family because these two parties always, in
the end, will submit to the DNC. If you listen to that interview, you'll also
learn that all of the money comes from individual donations or from community
or workers' organizations and that the Green Party doesn't take corporate
funds.
If you look at the record of the Democratic Party, it is the one which, until
the 70's, was the home of the Southern Segregationists. It is the one
responsible for putting Americans of Japanese heritage in concentration camps
during WW2. It is the one responsible for dropping the only atomic bombs
dropped by anyone in history, on a country that had already offered to
surrender because our country wanted to threaten Russia by showing what its new
weapon could do. The Democratic Party started the Vietnam War. It is Bill
Clinton, a Democratic president, who deregulated our financial situation, ended
welfare as we know it, placed sanctions on Iraq that were responsible for
killing more than half a million children. It was Obama, a Democrat who sat in
the Oval office with a kill list every Tuesday, a list of young mid eastern men
who were considered to be potential, not real, but potential, terrorists. And
it was he, a Democratic President, who arranged for the drone assassinations of
two American citizens without trial. And it was during the Obama administration
that our country began separating immigrant children from their parents and
putting them in cages. Everything that Trump has done, had its beginning during
the previous Democratic administration.

Roger, back in the days when I was younger and naïve I was making a pretty good
penny as one may say. I used to contribute more money to the Green Party in NY
than most working people make a year. However, I never got anything more than
the customary thank you post card. After a year or so of trying and eventually
threatening to stop donations I received a manilla folder with the internal
control plan. Although there was quite a bit of redaction done to it; one thing
was clear. All of their efforts were clearly aimed at destroying Democratic
candidates and flipping some congressional seats. In a few congressional races
in upstate NY which at the time were held by Republicans their strategy was to
draw enough votes away from the Democratic challenger. The Green party is very
popular in the lower Westchester county towns where multi-million dollar homes
are the norm. It gives the Nuevo-rich folks a means of protecting their
Republican tax dodgers while at the same time appearing socially progressive. I
have a nagging suspicion that there are a few folks out on eastern Long Island
that take the same tact. So at this point I just consider the Green party an
adjunct to the Republican party. Anyone who claims to support them is probably
a wealthy, white suburban person living in a primarily Democratic state who is
trying to appear progressive while protecting their "financial security" (read
that tax shelters) from Uncle Sam.

The kind of socialism that the Green Party represents? I have never known the
Green Party to represent any kind of socialism. They do have supporters who
style themselves as watermelons, that is, green on the outside and red on the
inside. Socialist Alternative is an example. They usually throw support to the
Green Party. However, I can't see anything that would indicate that the Green
Party itself has ever represented socialism of any kind.

Second, I voted for a third party because New York is not a swing
state. It always goes Democratic. And in addition to liking the kind
of socialism that the Green Party represents, I voted for it because
Cuomo is trying to throw it off the ballot in this state. They've
tripled the number of votes required to keep it on the ballot.
