I've just read an article in The New Yorker about Republicans opposed to
Trump's re-election. The New Yorker is considered to be a liberal,
sophisticated, intellectual magazine. Its politics are Democratic centrist,
supportive of the party leadership most of the time. The point of the
article was to promote a woman who'd been working hard to organize
Republicans to vote against Trump, to even vote for a Democrat, if
necessary. And she's a lesbian so you should especially admire her, I
suppose. She's been talking to suburban women. The point of the article was
that she would vote for Biden who, according to the article, miraculously,
took the lead after the South Carolina primary. But the article makes very
clear that she would never vote for Sanders because she considers him to be
the same as Trump.

And there's this. Michael Moore did a very long interview with James
Galbraith, the sun of the famous economist who worked in the FDR
administration. Galbraith is smart and interesting, and apparently, he likes
Sanders and was working with  him.  But He says that neither is competent to
lead the country at this point. He'd like Cuomo because he thinks we need
someone as president who's been, "showing leadership at a local level". Well
Cuomo is everyone's darling because he made such a lovely speech the other
day, criticizing Trump and talking about New York's needs. But his budget
cuts Medicaide and education because the state won't get enough help from
the federal government. He refuses to raise taxes on his Wall Street friends
which is what has to happen to give our state a budget that fills its
people's needs. I'll bet he gets the nomination in a brokered convention.
