We have a Democratic governor in New York who supports charter schools. The
largest chain of charter schools in New York City, I think it's called
Success Academies, is owned by a lady named Eva Moscowitz. It used to be, in
the old days, that people with Jewish names in New York City, were Liberals.
Eva Moscowitz has sold the public on her schools by promising that they will
provide a better education to minority students, aka black students, than
the public schools. That hasn't been the case. In fact, numerous issues
regarding how students are treated in these schools, have been reported. And
the schools are taking physical space from the public schools. De Blasio
attempted to prevent that, and was stopped by Governor Cuomo. All of this is
my introduction to what I heard on WBAI this evening. Eva Moscowitz is now
publicly apologizing for having supported Donald Trump for President, and
for having donated money to his campaign. Apparently, after the events that
took place in Charlottesville, she's had second thoughts or, she has become
worried about her public image.
Oh, and here's another tidbit for you football fans. The NFL, according to
one of the police officers at a rally that took place in New York City
today, contributed 8 million dollars to the Republican presidential campaign
and $800,000 to the Democratic presidential campaign.
