Thank you for your kind words.
The Prime Minister has been deeply moved by the support and compassion
shown in the wake of the attack in Christchurch, and by the thousands
of people who have taken the time to share their condolences.
She has asked me to pass on the following statement:
My thoughts are with the families who have lost loved ones and who are
now experiencing unimaginable pain and grief. While I can't take away
this pain, I send the Muslim community my love, as so many New
Zealanders have, and the reassurance that I will do all I can to
support them. My focus is ensuring those who have been affected have
the care and support they need - not just now, but in the coming
months and years.
This is a tragic time, and all of New Zealand is feeling the impact.
While we as a nation grapple with a form of grief and anger we have
not experienced before, the compassion and kindness that has been
expressed at community events, on social media, and by people right
across the country show us who we are as a nation.
Going forward, I know those are the values we'll all work hard to protect.

Prime minister of New Zealand, peace be upon you. First, let me
introduce myself briefly. My name is Mustafa Almahdy. I am Egyptian
and I am a religious teacher in my country. At its inception, please,
on behalf of myself and all Egyptians, accept our wholehearted
condolences to the grave loss of innocent souls in your country.
Second, I write you to thank you for your humanistic disposal.
Subsequent to the callous assault on my Muslim fellows, you showed a
genuine concern for all New Zealanders. I heard you speaking to the
media and I so much liked your truly respectful and human caring
attitude. In less than a week after the deadly terrorist assault on
the two Mosques in Christchurch, you have announced the permenent ban
of all military style firearms. You have entered history with this
determination. US congressional authority should have learned from
you, as they are incessantly spiked by pro gun lobbyism to institute a
bill that demands the ban of such weapons despite the perennial
occurrence of mass shootings in their country. You, after only one of
these, you've stood your ground and made it clear. I am really
impressed. I actually don't know much about New Zealand other than
it's an independent country within British Commonwealth. It has
achieved independence from the United Kingdom in 1907. It is known for
sheep and spectacular scenery. But, I should learn more about this
country. Please, accept my greetings to you and your people. May Allah
bless New Zealand and aid you attain the honourable aim you sincerely
seek. Terrorism is a vicious phenomenon. Whether it's exercised by
Muslims, Christians, Jews or others, it must be fought and flawlessly
defeated by all means. I apologise if this message caused you
inconvenience as your contact is public to only receive messages that
are related to domestic affairs. I just felt the absolute necessity to
write you and thank you in person. God bless you, Mustafa from Cairo
