Dear Mr. Craig and Ms. Gravetti,
I point your attention to the following segment gleaned from the SPIL progress
report in the huge, bundled SILC packet for Friday’s meeting:
o ““25th Anniversary of the ADA. This involved talking with members of the
public and getting input for further SILC activities.”
Well I can tell you this: It’s a damned lie in print at least as far as I and
several others were concerned. Bottom line is that Ms. Gravetti and other
agents of the state sought the agency of the Capitol Police, in documented
fashion to keep several from even enterring the event proper let alone meeting
with members of the SILC for input. In fact I was bloody well arrested, quite
illegally for trying to llawfully enter the event.
In addition every member of the National Federation of the Blind of Michigan
was denied entry.
Moreover, so were several members of ADAPT.
And finally, andquite importantly so were Elenor Cantor and her husband denied
access quite literally by highly armed State Troopers,.
Thus we couldn’t dialogue with SILC staff or even present our input with
petitions, leaflets and other dangerous ideas guaranteed by our First Amendment
rights to you state actors, officials and employees. As the quote above states.
There sure wasn’t any consumer in put from us as you openly lie here!
There is no other word for such a written falsehood than to call it a written
lie!
Access is a civil right especially to the celebration of our seminal civil
rights law and to the in put from the public you perportedly say you wanted
here.
But, it goes to all of the false data that goes in to the current SPIL
monitorring; garbage in, garbage out!
Bottom line is you violated our civil rights and indeed our constitutional
rights and then you have the unmitigated gall to put something like this in
your reporting? Say will this falsehood find itself in to the SILC’s 704
report? All are violations of the “false statements act” if so.
I trust you will pass these comments on to the entire SILC.
You had better do so.
I for one will make sure that all are informed and more.
