Alice? Could that be Alice Mae Huggins? I think I used to date her.
After her hitch in the Marines, she took to riding bulls. I was
working as a rodeo clown in Ellensburg when she competed for Bull
Rider of the Year. Alice Mae lasted a whopping ten point two seconds
and when he finally tossed her, she landed right in front of that mean
bull, just a long step from where I stood. Thinking I'd save the
little gal, I grabbed her left foot with the idea of yanking her out
from under the crazed pot roast. But Alice Mae gave a quick kick,
sending me back against the fence. Then as that angry monster bore
down on her, she reached out, caught him by both front legs and
flipped him right over the fence, not two feet from where I was
sprawled. Yup, Alice Mae and I hit off right from the git go.
Naturally I aimed to please her. To not please her was something you
would not want to do. We went together for about a year, until I
finally broke my chain and made a run for it during a particularly
fierce hail storm. I've never met her brothers, but I hear tell that
they're out there looking for me.
