Everyone is asking for money. Everyone gives good reasons for their
requests. Money appears to be the key. I just don't know. Even if I had
enough money to fill all those requests, would I not be just supporting a
failing system, If money will win the battle, we're sure to lose because we
don't have enough to counter the money of the elites.

Bob,
I receive many such requests for a dollar here and ten dollars there.
I think there are enough long standing organizations to defend us, so that
we don't need to support them all. Just be certain to support those you
can, and stay on the People's side.
Donald Trump is steering the Ship of State into the rapids, and perhaps over
the Falls. While it is not our, the People's government, we do happen to be
sitting in steerage. Capitalism is failing, and it will take us all,
working class and upper class down with it. Whether it is "our" government,
or not. We need to be prepared to put the pieces back together in a new
form.
What about building more cooperatives run by those workers who depend upon
the business for their financial survival? In England, the government is
loaning startup money to employees who buy up their company, rather than
allow it to be sold or moved to another country.
The law being proposed by the Labor Party, would force any company deciding
to merge or move, to first offer the company for sale to the workers.
Here in little old Quilcene, one of our only two grocery stores closed. It
was vacant for many months, until a group of residents bought the store and
reopened it as a co-op. The store has shown steady growth and is now on
firm footing. I don't know if the backers are showing any serious profit
yet, but after nearly two years I think they must be at least holding their
own.
Anyway, it's one answer to capitalism.

Check out this mess. Sure glad that Doug Erickson is not my senator.
This is exactly the kind of nonsense that could cause me to support
the violent overthrow of a bastard government.

Dear Robert,
Trump is about to be inaugurated as President, and protests are
springing up all over the U.S. But now a pro-Trump politician has
proposed an all new way to crack down on these protests and put groups
like SumOfUs out of business.
Washington State Senator Doug Erickson says he's preparing legislation
that will label peaceful demonstration marches as acts of "economic
punishable with prison time.conditioner company.
If passed, this bill would be a blueprint to shut down our work to
hold corporate power to account and and muzzle people-powered
movements like ours. And we have to fight back now.
If just a few of us donate the price of a cup of coffee or whatever we
can afford, we can build a legal fund to help pay the costs of ours
and other movements under attack.
Will you chip in to help stop this attack on our people-powered
organization?

66.36551.fNKz4P> Yes I'll chip in $1 to help stop this attack on our
people-powered organization.
The bill aims to essentially make protest illegal -- and crack down on
people powered organizations like ours.
But it's not the only way we could be attacked by Trump. He's
signalled his willingness to use the office of the presidency to
attack political dissenters - and already, has attacked a labor union
leader on Twitter who criticized Trump's ridiculous deal with Carrier air
Immediately, the union leader was flooded with death threats.help.
SumOfUs is almost entirely funded by small online donations of just a
few dollars from regular people like you and me. We take no money from
governments or corporations so we can be truly independent and
fearless in the face of corporate power.
Under the Trump Administration, SumOfUs could be a big target given
our work to challenge corporate power at every level. We need to make
sure we're ready for any and all assaults on our vital work.

The great beauty and legitimacy and strength of SumOfUs is that all
our power flows and comes from people. But our fearlessness has made
us many enemies -- and will continue to do so given our big plans for
2017 fighting the expansion of Breitbart, holding Facebook to account,
and fighting mega corporate takeovers like the Bayer-Monsanto merger.
Our work has never been more important. And we can be ready with your
