The Maine Republican said Brett M. Kavanaugh had "received rave reviews" for
his 12 years as a federal appeals court judge. The confirmation vote, scheduled
for Saturday, needs support from at least 50 senators. Vice President Pence
would cast the tiebreaking vote if necessary.
