So, you could be right. But my point still remains, violence produces no
winners. Ever. Certainly I understand full well the blinding anger that
erupts when disenfranchised people are pushed to the edge.
I blush to count the numbers of times I have wanted to rip my tormentors
from limb to limb. And had I been twice my size, I probably would still be
doing time for wholesale murder. But Lady Luck was with me, and I survived
without much of a run in with the law. And I've lived long enough to see
the trail of misery left behind when violence turns on violence.
Personally, I doubt there is an answer. But I keep hope alive by preaching
unity and peace and respect for those around us.

racism is so inculcated into the thoughts and feelings of white
people, the responses of white police officers to black people are
based on their perceptions of black bodies as threats. The reality of

killings of black people and of the treatment of bystanders as
