I guess Mike Godino isn’t all bad. At least he’s trying.

Subject: [Acbny-l] Action Alert 12.1.17 - Urgent - Call Now To Oppose the
Senate Tax Plan!
Important,
Please share and call today
The U.S. Senate is planning to vote on the tax bill today. It is critical that
the disability community call right now in opposition to this bill, which would
have the impact of drastically cutting numerous programs vital to people with
disabilities!
New York Senators are opposed, but here are the top Senate targets:
Sen. Susan Collins (ME) (202)224-2523
Sen. Bob Corker (TN) 202-224-3344
Sen. Jeff Flake (AZ) 202-228-0515
Sen. Ron Johnson (WI) (202) 224-5323
Sen. Jerry Moran (KS) (202) 224-6521
Talking points:
• Please vote no on the tax bill, which would hurt people with
disabilities and their families.
• This bill will trigger the Pay-go provision of the 2010
sequestration bill and require mandatory across the board cuts to vital
programs including Vocational Rehabilitation, IDEA, Head Start, low income
housing programs, and many more!
• Medicare is on the block to be cut by $25 billion
• Services that benefit people with disabilities and low-income
Americans - such as Medicaid, Medicare, and Supplemental Security Income - are
in danger of losing funding to help pay for these proposed cuts.
• Eliminating the individual mandate will reduce access and
increase costs for people with disabilities and all Americans.
• This bill will decrease contributions to charities that support
millions of people living in poverty.
