Well, I don't have a TV. If I did, there's no way I could get those channels. I
am getting the bill for Melanie's TV from Optimum, combined with our internet
service. When I moved, they gave us this one year deal which has channels that
she doesn't want, charges for a phone which we don't use because I wanted my
phone with old fashioned copper wires which has good sound and won't disappear
when the cable goes out, and which I will have to renegotiate in November
because the price then goes way up. I took the package because it was the
cheapest way for melanie to get the channels she wanted. The nice thing about
podcasts is that you can listen to them when it's convenient to do so, rather
than having to be available at specific times. But everyone who does them, and
everyone on these alternative stations, is desperate for money. RT and Sputnik
Radio have money, but who knows how long they'll be permitted to continue to
broadcast? They've got some of the best people. So does The Real News network,
but it doesn't have Chris Hedges.

Actually, after wondering, I googled Thom Hartman to see if he and Hedges ever
exchanged views. There are several listed, but I only began listening to one
transcript. They seemed to be on the same page.
As for Wolff, I am not happy with his shorter format. I listen
mostly for his updates, not the interviews, so I used to only listen to the
first half hour. Oh well, when Thom Hartman had an hour program on RT, it was
far more interesting than when they cut him to half an hour. Now I get his
radio show out of Portland, at 9:00 A.M.
PDT. He is also on DISH TV, on Free Speech TV at 9:00 A.M. PDT.
They also list him at channel 348, but don't give a network or time.
When I have time...which is seldom, I google the people I like to listen to.
Alternative Radio had Howard Zinn, speaking at Reed College back in 1995. He
could have been talking about the world today.
But I truly enjoyed Zinn. Gentle humor with a bite in it.

On DISH TV it is channel 9415. They also list channel 348, but don't say who
the carrier is.

Tom is probably scared of what Chris Hedges has to say. Economic
Update used to be an hour long program. It has been cut to a half
hour. The second half hour used to be an interview with a guest. The
interview is now cut to 15 minutes.

Thanks Miriam.
I tune into Economic Update with Richard Wolff(two f's) on KEXP-FM at
6:00 each Sunday morning. I've become used to the good Professor's
style, and have gained good information from him. Thom Hartman has
Wolff on his talk show quite often. Interestingly, Thom has not had
Chris Hedges on, that I know of.

I you'd like to hear an excellent blending of Marxist and

Economic Update podcast for this week.
