This is a long and detailed book. I recommend it to people interested in
thinking about our current economic system and who are looking for ways for
it to be more humane and serve all of our people more fairly. Kuttner has a
great deal of information about how the systems of other countries work and
also about our own history. If I were to summarize his view in a sentence,
which is probably an unfair thing to attempt, I'd say that he favors a kind
of Democratic Socialism.
