First of all, I'll be voting for Jill Stein. And it's because her platform and
what I've heard her say, represents something as close to what I'd like in this
country if it were possible. So when you make allegations about her or the
Green party, I take it as a personal insult. I can't imagine how you can equate
her, or Bernie Sanders, for that matter, as representing , or being part of,
the Capitalist class. Perhaps they have more money than you or I do, but they
are nothing like Hillary and Bill, or the majority of senators and congressmen
in terms of wealth, nor do their allegiances lie with Finance or international
corporations. The Green Party wants to organize apart from the Democrats and
Republicans because both parties are funded by the same financial institutions
and corporations. And the two parties are supported by the mass media who are
funded by the same financial institutions and corporations that fund them. So
you'll never get to learn anything about the Green Party from TV or radio
reporting, nor from the articles from major publications. Whatever the two
major parties were 40 or more years ago, they are now working for the same
powerful interests. But they have advertising programs that have been
constructed to appeal to people with basically two different sets of values. So
long as the Democrats say the things that agree with your social and
ideological viewpoint, you'll vote for them, believing that they stand behind
what they say. That is the premise on which these insane political campaigns
are built. And up until this point, I have been seduced by all of that
propaganda. I've bought into it. No, this isn't, or shouldn't be a personal
fight between you and me, or between any of us. I was responding to the tone of
your comments. I don't expect to convince anyone on this list of anything. I
post articles that I think are interesting or instructive. Sometimes I agree
with them.
Sometimes, I'm not sure. Sometimes, I disagree. But I try not to post anything
with an ignorant point of view. And I say what I think so that people can agree
or consider, or disagree.

Don't be so Narcissistic. Stop trying to turn this into a personal war. I was
talking about the Green party/Stein camp, not you. However since you brought it
up yes, you have no idea who may or may not be subscribed to this list. Maybe
some anti-GOP statements may do us all some good.

Well, if you are sneakily insinuating that I am pro G O P, then you've
misinterpreted what I wrote. I don't bother posting anti G O P articles on this
list because everyone whom I know who is on this list is already anti G O P.
But many of us are registered Democrats and the Democratic Party has been
misrepresenting itself for many years. Yes, it has liberal social positions.
However, in terms of economics, and war, it now represents the interests of
banks, corporations, and the military. It doesn't represent the poor, the
working class, or middle income people. But it captures our votes because the
Republicans are so extreme and this year, so crazy and openly racist. But if
you look at who is supporting the Democratic ticket, it is the wealthy and many
people from the Bush administration, and the Neo Cons.
And then she has the folks who are dependent on the Democratic Party and
terrified to leave it: the union establishment, the old time Black Political
Establishment, etc. And the Democrats now do what they criticized the
Republicans for doing in terms of war, spaying, lack of real gun legislation,
disregard for the welfare of immigrants. Dems are good on LGBT rights, women's
health, because those constituencies now have money and clout. They're not so
good on mass incarceration, in spite of all the hype, or on prosecuting cops
who murder black people. They're terrible on civil liberties and on whistle
blowers, and not so good on torture either. And they will use super pacs and
whatever other means they have to influence the vote in their favor, just like
Republicans do.

Actually the judgement is all their own, when they complain all about the
consequences of their own actions. And, yes elections have consequences. In the
fall when the protestors here in the US elect a republican president, will they
be happy and content with that choice or will they complain, which is a form of
self-judgement. Further to the point, why do those protestors think they are so
special that they can get their rocks off making themselves happy with their
little protest votes while believing that it is up to the rest of society to
keep their precious little protest votes just that protest votes. That is one
possibility, the other is that these so-called protestors are really closet
republicans looking for any excuse to put the GOP in office. This may very well
be the case when you hear all of the anti-DNC rhetoric and never even hear a
peep coming from the same people about the GOP. Don't believe name, then reread
the messages posted here; even the one I am replying too. The pro=GOP stance is
very evident in these "protestors", "radicals" or "revolutionaries"; or
whatever BS label they call themselves today.

And what will happen when Hillary is elected? We'll have even more wars, a
continuation of our subservience to the financial industry and big
corporations, continued erosion of our civil liberties, greater economic
inequality which will begin to be felt by people who consider themselves to be
middle class and immune to the indignity of poverty, a continuation of
institutionalized racism with police murders of people of color going
unchecked, continued deportation of poor immigrants of color regardless of
their situation, increasing medical costs for people who have medical
insurance, continued disregard of how our handling of fossil fuels is fueling
the catastrophe of global warming, and all of it camouflaged by the language of
social justice, freedom, and equality. I've posted at least 3 articles which
indicate why some people voted for Brexit and what the consequences may be.
Our situation is very complicated and those of us who choose to cling to the
status quo are like the frog in the pot of water which is slowly heating on the
stove, moving toward the boiling point. So let's not judge people too harshly
for the choices they make.

CBS this morning ran a piece about the British vote and made a big point of how
many Brits are now saying that they regret their vote and that they only voted
for it as a protest vote thinking that it could never pass. This is the reality
of these "protest votes". It may make the person feel good but wait until the
morning after. This greatly foreshadows what will happen here in the US in
November as all of these portest votes will only put the GOP in the White House
and come the morning after said protestors will be complaining of got elected.
