I'm not sure that religious leaders are more prone to this behavior than anyone
else. I think  that  men with power, are more prone to sexually abuse a variety
of people than other men. So whether it's celebrities, politicians, people in
the military or religious leaders, it's the power that's the important
component. In the case of Catholic priests, the celibacy adds another dimension.

Actually, this is not the kind  of article that I usually post here, but I
happened to come across it and since the scurrilous behavior of the purveyors
of religion was up I said why not and posted it. By itself it doesn't prove
much, but it does seem that priests and preachers of most any variety of
religious persuasion have a predilection for sexual activity with the very
young. Because they are always so judgmental about other people's sexual
practices it also points up their hypocrisy.

Why not? If Catholic priests can do it, why not Protestant pastors?

Breaking: Jackson County pastor, who lives in Roane County, wanted by West
Virginia State Police on felony solicitation charges.

WVSP are looking for Douglas Harper, who is 39 from Gandeeville. At the time
of the allegations, Harper was serving as a pastor at Living Water Church in
the Ripley area. The investigation alleges Harper sent multiple text messages
to a 15-year-old boy that were ‘’sexual in nature.’’ So far, troopers have
been unable to find or arrest him.

A Jackson County man was arrested Friday in connection to the investigation.
He’s accused of interfering and is charged with giving false information to
police, a misdemeanor, so we aren’t releasing his name.

Nothing surprises me. It’s hard to trust people and know their true
motivations.

It is just hard for me to believe he did this. I use to go to church
with him and was friends outside of church for a lot of years. I never
saw anything bad about him I have never even heard him cuss. Him and
his wife were good Christians. There has to be a mistake.

Yes as a pastor you expect them to be better and to do better and to
set a better example but they fail to the devil is always knocking on
our door and sometimes he gets in so God forgive you and God help you

Goes to show that Satan rules in the hearts of men that seem to be good.
Too bad so sad that these things happen. Thank you Satan you think you
have won but think again you are in for a rude awakening.
