What happened to Jane here is a crying shame as well as an injustice of
major proportions.
The article states in part: "While the Disability system does provide a
crucial safety net for millions of Americans like Jane, it is structured to
reinforce existing inequalities.
People who earned higher wages before they became disabled receive larger
payments than low-wage workers, and the minimum payments are not sufficient
for disabled people like Jane to live in dignity."
IN Jane's case, our poor excuse for a safety net did prevent her death, but
not much more. I feel very fortunate to live in a state like Massachusetts
which did not deny Medicaid expansion to their residents as states like Ioa
now do. There is no doubt in my mind that all of these states are run by
evil people, perhaps just as evil as those who governed the Soviet Union.
Heck, when they took you outside and shot you in the Soviet Union, at least
you wer put out of your misery!
IF we had a truly free press that cared about American citizens, we'd see
many more articles like this one.
My wife donna was out of work for one month this year and was eligible for
Medicaid for that month. She's now back to work and back on her neighborhood
health plan. If we lived in one of the evil states and something bad had
happened to Donna during the month of August, we would have been financially
ruined.
One more point here. The waiting list for Medicaid for SSDI recipients is
yet another injustice of major proportions. .
