Interestingly, all of those young independent journalists, whom I hear on my
podcasts, including the two people on Trueanon, who define themselves as
Marxist Leninists, are ardently supporting Bernie. So are older people like
Michael Moore and Katie Halper. So are most of the podcast guests. The only
people who haven't verbally committed to him are Brian Becker, John Keriakou,
and Matt Taibbi, and, of course, Chris Hedges. The reason for everyone's
support of him is that they see him as the leader of a movement, and they
believe that he is the only electable candidate who is truly honest. They're
not talking about third party candidates at this point because they know that
there's no chance of electing one of them, and they still see electoral
politics as the only realistic avenue toward change. Their faith and
desperation are real.

Subject: [blind-democracy] Re: Bernie Sanders: War in Iran Would Be Bigger
Disaster Than Iraq
Although I will vote for Bernie Sanders in our upcoming presidential
election...given the opportunity...nonetheless, I have strong doubts that he
has developed a foreign policy that will ease international tensions and
promote Peace and democracy. If Sanders is frozen out of the election process,
then I probably will vote for the Socialist Democrat candidate.
And before anyone tells me that this is throwing away my vote, I would remind
you that in 2008, I voted for Barack Obama...most assuredly a wasted vote! In
2012 I voted for Bernie in the primary, and after the DNC did the hatchet job
on him, I voted for Jill Stein. Again, not a throw away vote. A throw away
vote would have been a vote for Hillary Clinton. Had she won, her foreign
policy was every bit as hawk-like as is Donald Trump's. My vote for Jill Stein
was my way of saying that I believed America could be better than it was.

Bernie Sanders: War in Iran Would Be Bigger Disaster Than Iraq By

Sen. Bernie Sanders has pleaded with President Trump and Republican
lawmakers not to go to war with Iran, warning that military action
would prove to be a bigger disaster than the war in Iraq. In a video
posted to Twitter early Friday, hours after the Pentagon confirmed it
had carried out a deadly Trump-ordered drone strike on Iranian general
Qassem Soleimani, the Democratic presidential hopeful urged the
president to get off the path to war. Sanders explained that he
opposed the war in Vietnam as a young man, and that he helped lead the
effort against the war in Iraq. "That war was the worst foreign-policy
blunder in the modern history of the United States," said Sanders,
referring to Iraq. Sanders went on: "I'm going to do everything I can
to prevent a war with Iran, because if you think the war in Iraq was a
disaster, my guess is that war in Iran would be even worse... So let's
work together and prevent that war, and if people want to criticize me
for that, go for it, that's OK, I don't apologize to anybody."
