Perhaps the comparison between abortion and slavery helps Ben Carson
get his face in the news, but his example may well turn on him. For
one thing, the opponents of slavery did not put an end to the
victimizing of slaves by declaring the practice of enslavement to be
outlawed. Those who profited the forced labor of other human beings,
found other ways of accomplishing the same results. Yes, we had put
an end to the practice of Slavery. But we had done very little to
change the victimization of Blacks. I recall that FDR wooed the
Dixicrats, making concessions to those southern states, looking the
other way while Blacks were denied any rights at all, in order to gain
the votes he needed to pass New Deal legislation, aimed at making a
better life for Americans.
Perhaps Ben Carson is too young, or was too sheltered to recall the
reasons abortion became legal. He ignores the plight of the ghetto
girls who are faced with the grim future of struggling to raise
unwanted babies, or taking to the back alleys where many died or were
maimed through clumsy, unclean practices of unskilled abortionists.
But the rich girls flew to Paris, where they had an abortion and
recovered, telling friends that they were visiting Aunt Mary.
How would Ben Carson propose caring for all of the new unwanted
babies? Already our slums are full of unwanted babies grown big, and
angry over their rejection by society. Ben Carson would save the
little helpless fetus to survive and grow into a human baby, only to
be abandoned.
Like so many fools, Ben Carson goes for what he believes is the easy
fix. Outlaw it! And the problem is solved.
The fact is that passing a law does little. If passing a law was all
it takes, slavery would no longer exist in this country. But it does.
Sure it's no longer legal to hold title to another humans life, but
only fools believe that the Master does not control his underlings.
Ben Carson has never been a young girl, forced into sex by someone
bigger than herself, impregnated and left to the unfeeling, uncaring
community. What does he propose for the perpetrator? And even if the
law were severe, how many frightened young girls would dare to stand
up to him in court? And Ben Carson has never been humiliated by the
process of proving that he was raped. He has never had his legs
spread to strangers who probe about in order to take evidence. And
humiliated in court by lawyers who attempt to make them out to be
sluts. Ben Carson would make an unfair system even more out of
balance. But that is because Ben Carson is an elitist. He has risen
up to respectability as a Black Man. Elitists such as Ben Carson use
themselves as their example. "I made it, therefor any hard working
Black Man can do likewise", they reason. The infeerence is that all
of those who do not rise up, are lazy or stupid.
In Ben Carson's world it is every man for himself. And as for the
women? Keep them home, like God intended.

Dr. Ben Carson isn't shy about making comparisons with slavery in order to
draw attention to present-day socio-political issues in America, and during
an appearance on NBC's "Meet the Press" on Sunday, he invoked that
historical disgrace once again in reference to abortion.
On the weekly news show, Carson, who's within close range of GOP
front-runner Donald Trump in the polls, spelled out his uncompromising
stance on the polarizing issue of abortion (via The New York Times):
The Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson said Sunday he believed
that abortion should be outlawed even in cases of rape and incest,
comparing
the procedure with slavery.
"I would not be in favor of killing a baby because the baby came about in
that way," Mr. Carson said on NBC's "Meet the Press," citing "the many
stories of people who have led very useful lives who were the result of
rape
or incest."
Mr. Carson, who has not been shy about using slavery and Nazi metaphors,
held up what he said was a historic parallel with abortion.
"During slavery, a lot of the slave owners thought that they had the right
to do whatever they wanted to that slave," said Mr. Carson, a former brain
surgeon. "Anything that they chose to do. And, you know, what if the
abolitionist had said, you know, 'I don't believe in slavery. I think it's
wrong. But you guys do whatever you want to do.' Where would we be?"
Carson had previously drawn a parallel to slavery when discussing Obamacare
two years ago, during a speech at the Values Voter Summit in Washington,
D.C., in which he said, "You know, Obamacare is really, I think, the worst
thing that has happened in this nation since slavery."
During his sit-down Sunday with "Meet the Press" moderator Chuck Todd,
Carson also addressed his willingness to use the Holocaust and Nazi Germany
to illustrate what he views as modern-day societal dangers. "Interestingly
enough, in the last several weeks I've heard from many people in the Jewish
community, including rabbis, who have said, 'You're spot-on,' " Carson
said.
Watch Carson discuss his stance on abortion, as well as his support for
revoking Roe v. Wade, in the "Meet the Press" clip below (via NBC):
