Well, using the cover of a Friday night when everyone's attention is rightly
on a major storm, our illustrious leader has pardoned Joe Arpaio, who was
convicted of practicing racial profiling while he was sheriff. I wonder if
anyone remembers that he almost was a speaker at the ACB convention in, if
memory serves, 2010. Guide Dog Users, Inc. had him slated as their keynote
luncheon speaker. Problem was, as best as I can recall, nobody knew about
it, not even most of the GDUI board. There were only two or three people
involved in getting this set up, and once word got out luckily cooler heads
prevailed and he was uninvited. Supposedly he was coming to speak about his
efforts in animal control, or something, but he probably would have been as
apt as Trump to wander off script and become very political. Luckily, it
didn't happen.
