Charter schools are an outrage. And a whole pack of blatant lies. They siphon money and other resources from public education and create a whole new hierarchy of the haves and the have nots, in addition to abandoning the kids left in the floundering public schools. And those involved in the charters exude a level of smug self-satisfaction that makes me gag. It’s yet another privatized scam, as Carl says.

Charter schools.  The on-going effort to turn Public Education into
another  "For Profit" boondoggle.  How many more times will Americans

be run "more efficiently" by For Profit Corporations, only to learn
that we've been robbed?  Bit by bit we are becoming the United

Hi Miriam,
Good post here. Charters still have lots of public support here in Mass and
the teachers unions seem to have few friends. I'm afraid I believe this
ballot question will pass in November and boy do I hope I'm wrong.
