Hi VG,

You should have received a welcome message when you first joined the
blind-chess list. If you did not, please let me know and I will resend it.

Mainly, you need to give me your name so I can include you on our player
contact list. Your name and email will not be published on the list.

We play chess by email, but normally do not send moves through the list. So
we need your name on the contact list.

If you are very new to chess, you may want to take the free chess course at
the Hadley School for the Blind. you will get a free chess set with the
course to use and keep.

In any event, we will try to help you along the way. The best way to learn
is to play, just don't get too frustrated if you don't win many games.

Richard

Subject: [blind-chess] New here and interested in playing

Hi, I'm new here and have been reading the various emails and getting a
feel for the group. I'm fairly new to chess and have been playing for
only a few months. I'm not all that good yet but I enjoy the game. I
wish I could play more frequently but there is a lack of willing
partners. I don't know how chess is played here and how pairing even
works. I'd like to learn though.

Talk soon,
VG
