Hi Richard and all- I too like the idea of not reversing the ladder at this time. In fact, I'm not sure the ladder needs to be reversed for three or more years. With games usually lasting more than 30 days , it will take a very long time before the ladder becomes static and needs a little mix-up - if at all. Maybe, the TD could use his discretion and flip the ladder when it really needs it (or, when he feels mischievous, grin) rather than doing this on a set date. Once again, great job, Richard, on all you do for the BC chess list! Keep it up! I really appreciate you and this group and how well we all play and learn together. Happy holidays to everyone and good chess in the New Year! Giving it another year should allow enough time for the whole Ladder to settle into an order more consistent with player ratings. If the players generally agree, existing games should continue and new challenge games can be started. Since one reason for ending the Ladder on November 30 was to free up time for year end holiday activities, I suggest we drop the two week notice on scheduling vacations from the Ladder until January for those too busy to play. Please post your comments and we will follow the consensus of the Ladder players. Richard
