I'm not sure about that but you really shouldn't have to notate it for your opponent. In the event that he or she doesn't see it or answers with an illegal move, staying in check, then you need to state the obvious. The mention of an "undiscovered check" would be noted for the benefit of the player making that move. This would be for his or her future reference. Also, if an "!" is made after a move it denotes a good move. Two "!!" a very good move. A "?" means the move is questionable as a decent move and two "??" I believe means a definate blunder. Also, the analyst or book editor may state those remarks. I hope this helps. Please double check my facts.
