Well, Jake, I guess I would like to explore your site a little more!
Sharon who may have time on Sunday

Elizabeth,

You want me to host reviews on my site?
The same site that you are concerned that no one knows about?
The site you cannot by your own ommission find a tip on when the URL was in
my message?

While I certainly understand your concerns it seems ironic you want me to
code more that probably isn't going to get used. I guess I am a little
frustrated because members of the lists are not taking advantage of the site
when they know about it. I realize that having information on my site is not
ideal, but believe me when I say that I want it to be on BookShare as much
as everybody else. My goal is to try and get a collection of knowledge
together, an attempt at trying to make up for areas where the main site is
lacking. When volunteers who actually know about the site though do not take
time to even reference/explore it even a little, well that does annoy me
some and make me wonder why I am actively working on 5,000+ lines of code
for it.

I don't think book reviews are going to attract visitors there. In addition
I feel no need to duplicate work BookShare has already done. It would not
only require me to write code to support it, but then someone would have to
supposedly eventually transfer them to the BookShare system through the same
process they're going through now.

I personally see little point in the feature. It has been so little used
that I would not object to the feature being removed altogether, as you
yourself mention, it takes away from other important duties.

If I want to read a book review I can go to any number of sites to do so.
These other sites include Amazon and Barnes and Noble. Googling for a book
review is also possible. I'm more likely to get many more results than
BookShare can ever think of having. Tip: If the ISBN is on the BookShare
page you can copy it, pull up Amazon, select the Book option and paste the
ISBN into the search box. This generally eliminates the intermediate step of
search results.

If anyone wants to write a lot of reviews and centrally host them I'd
suggest starting a blog. I am trying one out myself.

Jake, who probably has just been caught at a bad moment.
