Hi Marty, Daria et al,

Marty, Daria is talking about a new feature available on bookshare. It's a web
reader that allows one to read Bookshare books without actually downloading
them You'll see a link called "read now" from several different places on the
site. It's after the download link on the book's information page, among other
places. The book opens in your browser and you're ready to read!

Daria, during the beta cycle, I opened several books in the web reader and
never had a book take longer than 30 seconds to one minute.

Hi Daria,

It may take as long as 24 hours, depending on the size of the book. If
you’re trying to get a long one, it might not be ready for a while! You’ll get
an email notice when it’s ready. HTH!

Marty

Nout related but I wanted to know if there is a way to gage the time it will
take to convert a book for use in the webreader. All it says is download being
prepared but no progress numbers.
