If someone finds a status menu and the control characters option in it, please let us know on the list. I might not be the only one considering purchasing a new note taker, and whether or not these formatting characters show up on PacMate would influence my decision whether or not to buy it, and it might help others make a similar decision.

Hi, Susan and Evan. Having used the Braille Lite for years, and since the
PacMate is made also by Freedom Scientific, I wonder how much of the Braille

Lite's editing capabilities are carried over to the PacMate. In the Braille

Lite, you can turn on what they call Control Characters in the status menu.
Does the PacMate have a status menu? If it does and you turn this option
on, you will see all paragraph symbols, page breaks, end of line symbols,
and all manner of other formatting codes on your braille display.

Evan,

I don't think you ever can. But someone may know something about it I
don't. I, like you, just take the final copy into K1000. Happy validating.

Have a great day.

Susan

.
.Hmmmm, page breaks don't show up in my Pac Mate when I look at a
Bookshare
.rtf file I am validating. Hard returns don't either. Does anyone know if
.there is something I can do to make them display? It would be helpful to
see
.them as I read along. For now, I take care of page breaks and make sure
the
.blank lines are where they should be with K1000. Still, I'd like to see
them
.on my Pac Mate if possible.
.
.Thanks.
