Bud,

You can save your settings under settings then save settings and change the name from default to something you will remember as the settings for that book.

Hi Sharon,

I did try the optimize setting and it did help greatly, it almost eliminated all that extra junk. Thanks for the suggestion. Now I have to figure out how to save the setting and how to retrieve it when I come back.
Thanks.

Bud,

I usually open the book to somewhere in the middle, due the optimize feature, then save those settings for the book. Dancing at my wedding (smile), I am not sure I will be (grin). I have two left feet.

Hi Sharon, Actually I hadn't tried the optimize feature but I will right now. I tried different settings separately but I will do the whole thing now and see. I do have the book squared properly on the glass however. Thanks for the suggestion. If it works I'll dance at your wedding.

Bud,

Did you try optimizing the scanning features? Are you sure the book is flush left for right so that the top and bottom of the pages are not skewed?

Just my thoughts.

Hi guys and gals,
I know this has been discussed before but I just thought somebody might have some further input on the subject. When scanning a book there often are extra letters at the bottom and sometimes the top of the page. I am using an Epson 3170 scanner and version 9 of k1000. I have tried different programs, regular scan, fast scan, and whatever the third one is, perfect scan or something like that, and it doesn't seem to make much difference. It really slows down scanning a book when I have to stop and delete all those extra characters.
Any other ideas?
Thanks.
