Thank you *so* much Carrie. I should have read all m mail before responding to
Mayrie. smile I'm glaad tpo know it does that with tabs, too, because when I
started working on copy editing for dummies I was doing that by hand. I'm about
to start on that book again so I'm *very* happy to know about the tabs.

Hi Cindy,
Please don't spend any time on this. The converter automatically changes all
multiple spaces down to one space, and changes all tabs to one space too. No
need for you to waste your time on this!

Cindy have you tried using find and replace. You can open find and
replace with control h. In the find box press the space bar twice for 2
spaces. In the replace box, press the space bar once for one space. Then
press replace all until Word tells you that 0 replacements were made. If
this doesn't work, they must be tabs or something else.
