Wouldn't it be more honest to say "you are logged in as xxx" and just "quick links"?

More importantly, wouldn't it be neat to be able to customize our quick links to things like "new books" or "volunteer section" or "search the site"? I realize that these things are achievable in different places throughout the site, but quick links should be quick links, and if they bare my name then they should be the links I want.

Putting your name there is just them telling you who you're logged in
as, I would guess. It's quite easy to do in code, and does not signify
any kind of personalized menu.

Good point Kellie.
Unfortunately, I think the taskbar and quick links are the same for
everyone.

When I first saw the quick links with my name on it I thought I'd be able to change it to fit my needs--but, I don't think there is any way to change it.
So, why put my name on it? "All puff and no powder."

Maybe someone knows how to change either the taskbar or quick links. If so,
please help.

Hi all. On my volunteer task bar, I have options all to do with my account
and nothing to do with checking books in or out. Is that the way it's
supposed to be? If not, could someone help me change it? I really want the
checking-in and checking out and submit links there.
  Thanks,
  Kellie
