I am in the process of validating a textbook that is over 1300 pages in length. It was submitted in .txt format, and as a result, it has taken me ages to validate it because I have had to reformat it. Within the book there are two tables that appear not to have scanned correctly and are totally incomprehensible. I am almost positive that I will be unable to obtain this book at my local library in order to rescan the tables, and haven't the largish sum required to purchase it. The tables, as a practical matter, do not add anything to the text, and their purposes are fully explained. I placed notices in brackets that I had to excise/omit them from the text because they were totally unfit to keep. What is the correct way to handle this problem? Thank you for the help in advance.
