I don't see why you should revise your process. If Bookshare removes the blank lines, it would hardly seem to matter whether you retain them in the submitted or proofread file you send up to Bookshare.

I thought all blank lines except page break, pagination and chapter heading protection are stripped by the tool. I have never had blank lines before and after the asterisk line denoting white space. I need to know if I should revice my process.Valerie On Dec 28, 2009, at 7:45 PM, Lynn I wrote:Hi Everyone! I'm glad this subject of asterisks had come up. I've not been leaving a blank line on either side of them. Sorry about that, everybody. I do knowthat the Bookshare tool did retain them in the books I've proofread, there'sjust not a blank line on either side of the asterisks. Thanks Mayrie for helping me learn something and hopefully become a betterproofreader. *smile* Blessings. I have 2 questions: 1. For the page number, it is ok for me to begin each new page with: line space page number line space book text 2. The author uses "***" in the middle of the page to indicate a break between locations in the book. Should I use the "***"? If yes, should I use it at the beginning of the line? Should I surround it by line spaces like the author? EXAMPLES: from the text book text line space *** line space book text EXAMPLE from proofreader: OPTION 1: book text line space *** line space book text OPTION 2: book text *** book text Thanks for your advice Corbett Joan O'Toole Mail2Corbett@xxxxxxxxx Wanted: Single guest bed - fold out or inflatable is ok.
