[bksvol-discuss] seeking scanner for hardcover books

I've decided to start scanning again, but have run into an interesting problem.
The few books I scanned in the past were mass market paperbacks.
Well, there was one hardcover.
Anyway, I tried to scan another hardcover today, but the book wouldn't fit on
my scanner!
So, I need some suggestions for a not too pricey scanner that can handle
hardcovers of various sizes.
