Hi Lisa,

Well, I haven't been able to validate Carrie's submissions because I
thought the code for page breaks was ^m. That did not work, so I have
always had to release them back to Step 1. So the code is really ^n? Wow!
If that is true, no wonder Word would not replace the section breaks.

Hi, E. and anyone else who needs the info.

Here's what I do using Word 2002.

First, I verify how many section breaks there are because the number of
section breaks should convert exactly to page breaks when the find and
replace is finished. I just use Control+end to go to the end of the file to
do this.

Then I go to the find and replace dialog with Control+H and type in ^b (for
those who aren't using their screen reader punctuation, this is karat plus
the lower case b with no spaces.), in the find box and ^n (karat plus the
lower case n with no spaces)in the replace box and tab to Replace all and
press enter. A dialog pops up saying that word has made X replacements.
This is why I check before hand. If the new page breaks are the same as the
section breaks, I save the file and go on to validating.

Oh, and the karat is made by pressing shift+6 on the numbers row.

Hope this helps.

Lisa
