No, you don't. Just find any old rtf file you have with page breaks in it,
then change them to section breaks and back again. Just don't save the file
when you're done, to be on the safe side. Or make a backup copy and put it
in a different folder before you start. I would do both, that way you can
play with the file without anxiety.
But if you want to wait for a file with section breaks in it from the start,
then just wait for Carrie's next batch of submissions, which won't be long.

I'm not used to using keystrokes, but I think this sequence should change
all section breaks to page breaks.
Open up a .rtf file that has section breaks in it.
Type control-F to get to the find command.
Type alt-P to get to the replace command.
(you're already positioned at the From field)
Type ^b (section break)
Type the tab key (to get to the To field)
Type ^m (page break)
Type alt-A for replace all (global replace)
Could you please try this, and see if it works? It seemed to work for me.

In my version of Microsoft Word (MS Word 2002 SP3), if you go to the
Find or Replace command, and click on More, and then click on Special, you
can see the list of special characters it recognizes. Section break is ^b,
page break is ^m, and column break is ^n. To change section breaks to page
breaks, put ^b in the From field, ^m in the To field, and click on Global
replace. Works every time for me. What version of Word do you use, Sue?
I'm amazed that it doesn't work for you. Do you get an error message? Sure
would be nice if we could figure this out.

Here's what I do using Word 2002.
First, I verify how many section breaks there are because the number
of
section breaks should convert exactly to page breaks when the find and
replace is finished. I just use Control+end to go to the end of the
file to
do this.
Then I go to the find and replace dialog with Control+H and type in ^b
(for
those who aren't using their screen reader punctuation, this is karat
plus
the lower case b with no spaces.), in the find box and ^n (karat plus
the
lower case n with no spaces)in the replace box and tab to Replace all
and
press enter. A dialog pops up saying that word has made X
replacements.
This is why I check before hand. If the new page breaks are the same
as the
section breaks, I save the file and go on to validating.
Oh, and the karat is made by pressing shift+6 on the numbers row.
