As a queen of testing, I have used FineReader Pro (7 &9), IRIS Pro (11/12), OmniPage Pro (various iterations from 8-17), and the now defunct TextBridge(absorbed eventually by Nuance/OmniPage). Of current products on the PC, FineReader is most transparent and Pro is VERY powerful and timesaving. Having said that, depending on your machine and OS, for what it was at thetime, TextBridge was incredible! So, if you have an older machine and olderOS, dirt cheap copies might be available on eBay and the like.If you pick up a refurbished scanner or AIO, you will probably get somethingdecent bundled and a bargain. eBay had Dell all in ones for under $50SHIPPED that scanned beautifully and bundled FineReader Sprint and you wouldbe current on both. Just my experience and two cents... Valerie Currently scanning "Don't You Wish" by Robin Jones Gunn/ the Sierra Jensen Series Currently proofing: Angel Pawprints by Laurel e.
