Hi Mayrie,No, I haven't tried that, but I'll remember that. So far so good changing the margins to audo, seems to have helped. Thanks.

Hi Georgina, I have noticed that when scanning sometimes recognition doesn't work as well as it should because the recognition engine thinks the page isfacing in a direction that it isn't. If you try rescanning a problem page, actually telling the program under settings, and scanning what direction thetop of the page will be facing might do the trick. Unless, of course, you already tried that. Good luck! Threshold is dynamic, and the text is normal. Thanks. What size is the book: trade, mass market, hardback? What page and column settings are youusing? What margins if any? What position have you got the book in on thescanner? Like that. Thanks.----- Original Message ----- From: Georgina <mailto:culmer@xxxxxxxxxx>To: bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Saturday, December 20, 2008 3:08 PM Subject: [bksvol-discuss] scanning helpHi All-- I was wondering if anybody was scanning using an Epson 4490. I'm having trouble getting all of the text on the page. Sometimes Kurzweilwil say page complete, and other times it won't. Is there some general settings I can use? I'm wondering if the problem is the Kurzweil settings or could it be my scanner.
