It depends on how much you are willing to spend on one but a lot of us are using the optic book 3600. They have the 3800 and 4800 out now but I know the only thing is they did away with the setting of the lamp. You can go to www.plustek.com

I appologize as this may not be particularly on-topic for this list, but as
a scanner for Bookshare, it's important to me!

My scanner died yesterday and I just wanted to know if anyone here has any
suggestions for scanners to use with K1000. I don't think the Epson scanner
that I had is available any longer. I also contacted Kurzweil but they're
not testing scanners these days so suggested I stick with Epsons but that
was about all the advice they could give.

Your help would be much appreciated!!!
