As with so many other things, the initial capitalization of a new line or page
can be avoided with changing the auto formatting options within Word. However,
it is different in other programs. The problem is not everyone uses the same
tools.

Subject: [bksvol-discuss] roman numerals

Hi again,

Another thought about roman numerals: when roman numerals begin a line,
especially, for example, when you are using them for the page numbers of front
matter, the text will auto-capitalize the first letter but not the second. This
is not helpful for print readers, or, apparently, for Braille readers. This
doesnât necessarily apply to the question about medical terms, but I thought it
worth mentioning, because Iâve seen it come up a fewtimes. Please keep the
roman
numerals consistently capitalized or not. Thanks!

Best,

Madeleine Linares
