Hi Valerie!

Thanks. I needed a reminder of those commands, because I sometimes forget what some of them do that I haven't used as frequently as others.

If you are replacing section breaks in Word and want protected page breaks, you bring up find and replace with ctrl H and in the first box, put ^b and in the second put ^p^m^p

Hope that helps!

You can go to page setup, select applies to whole document (not this section as is probably the default) and then set the page size and margins to something reasonable (like all margins 1 inch and page size letter). >> >> Another and maybe simpler way if you have a copy saved from just before you changed the section breaks to page breaks is to go to the end of the book, set up the find and replace to convert section breaks to page breaks, then select the find and replace option to search backwards. I don't know why this works, but I discovered it by accident on one of the first books I proofed for bookshare which would go into the one character line format when I tried to convert section breaks to page breaks.

I am proofreading a book called the singing by ck. williams When I opend the book in word it had section breaks When I replaced the section breaks with page breaks The text started looking horrible It was showing one letter on one line at a time. Do I reject the scan and ask for a rescanning of the book or is there away to do this without rejecting the book.
