I agree with everyone else. Even though we can contact Madeleine or Carrie for an early renewal, most of the time we don't know till circumstances arise, and they may not get the note in time, either. And, Ann, sometimes Carrie can put in a kind word to the new volunteer explaining the unwanted loss and get a sympathetic release; I was lucky once or twice way back with that...
