HarperTorch seems to have horrid copy editing. Finding lots of that kind of stuff in the book I'm about to upload. Unfortunately, it's all there in black and white. ----- Original Message ----- From: Cindy To: bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, November 04, 2005 7:54 PM Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: released book(s) They are hard to find unless one is reading word for word and has a sense that the sentence would read more smoothly if a word were present--e.g., "she looked the window"--if someone were reading and not scanning, they might feel that the sentence should read, depending on the context, "she looked in the window," or "she looked out the window,"--or even "she looked out of the window." One wouldn't know which of the two latter sentences the book has unless one has the book, but it probably doesn't matter. On the other hand "she looked the window" is a bit awkward, although the reader can probably fill it in him/herself from the context.
