Hi Lori.
I love Kurzweil's "ranked spelling" tool. It ranks all the words it finds so 
you can tell it to ignore or replace the offending words. You can even edit a 
word so you can make different changes to the word at different occurrences.

I use Kurzweil for both proofreading and reading bookshare books. I have word 
2003, but rarely go to it when proofreading.

      Yes, you can proofread using Kurzweil.  I, in fact, do very little 
proofreading with Microsoft Word, though I can use that software for 
proofreading as well.   I just prefer using Kurzweil.
